Newcomer Engagement Award in memory of Lyle Leboldus

This award celebrates people who are new to the region but quickly support nonprofit organizations through their outstanding leadership, commitment and volunteer work. They have a passion for community involvement and are a tremendous advocate for the nonprofit sector.
Created in memory of Lyle Leboldus, this award honours his dedication, leadership and engagement with our community. The effects of his hard work and dedication will be continue to impact the future of our region. Lyle moved to Fort McMurray in March 2011, quickly committing to the community and making it his home. He joined the Fort McMurray Food Bank Board of Directors in June 2011 and became involved with the United Way Community Investment Committee in the spring of that same year. Lyle's passion for community involvement was not limited to his time in the region as he was also an avid supporter of local nonprofits and charities everywhere he lived.
